New Client Intake Closed During Student Break
The SLS office will be closed beginning Thursday, December 11, 2025, through Friday, January 9, 2026, for the student winter break. The office will reopen on Monday, January 12, 2026, when spring classes begin.
Students can submit SLS assistance requests through the steps below for us to review after winter break. Please note that we will only be responding to these inquiries once the office reopens which may be after your court date or deadline.

2. SLS Reviews Intake Form and Determines How to Assist
Once we have reviewed your intake form, we will contact you if any additional information is needed and then determine how we can assist with your matter. This decision is based on a few factors including, but not limited to, our current caseload and case intake priorities, the area of law involved, and the type of question(s) asked.
a. Conflicts of Interest: If your case involves a conflict of interest, we can typically provide resources and referrals which will be handled via email.
b. Legal Advice and/or Resources via Email: Some student inquiries are handled entirely through email communication to provide legal advice and/or resources on a matter.
c. Attorney Consultation: If applicable, we will send you a scheduling link for an attorney consultation. You will receive an email once your appointment request is confirmed and reminder emails ahead of the appointment.
If you cannot attend your appointment or need to reschedule, please contact our office as soon as possible. Please bring any documents related to your legal issue to the appointment. If you have an upcoming court date, please bring the court paperwork. Documents can be electronic if you'd like to bring your computer or tablet. You may be asked to submit your documents through a secure client portal for review at your appointment depending on their format.
